Practice Schedule October 14-19

Great game on Saturday. I have reviewed the film and I was very pleased with the way that we moved the ball, especially in the air. We had a game plan in practice that if they over loaded the middle, we would go outside and pass, and I think we did a good job of that.

Special mentions to:
Zach Ferguson for his job blocking and protecting Staheli.
Josh Miller for fighting through a rough first half to keep us in the game in the closing minutes.
Seth Smith for running like a tank! Great job! The block was clean on the punt return too!
Austin Staheli for passing under pressure. Keep throwing them up. We will get under them.
Tucker Lameroux on Defense with a couple of tackles behind the line. Nice job Mad Dog!
Gary Gottfredson for providing game film every week! Thank Gary!

With out a doubt, penalties is what killed us. We as coaches will take full responsibility for that, and promise that it will never happen again. I was reminded of what one of my Coach's growing up used to say " We don't have control over the Refs, only how we respond to the calls". Let's chalk this up to a learning experience.

We don't have a game until November 2, so we have 3 weeks of preparation for Moapa Valley. I want to use some of that time to recharge our batteries, heal up any bumps and bruises and get fired up for the post season.

The good news is that NOTHING HAS CHANGED! If we continue to win our games, we will be champions. We are in control of our own destiny. We are a better team than we were when we started and we are getting better every practice. Remember to forget about the things that you have no control over, and improve on the things that you do...namely EFFORT and ATTITUDE.

Practice Schedule Week of October 14th - 19th
Tuesday 5:30 - 7:30 Full Pads / Regular Practice.
Wednesday 5:00-6:00 HELMETS ONLY  then Varsity game at Snow Canyon H.S.

Have a great week end for UEA.

I'm curious what the ridiculous penalties added up to be. HOWEVER, I was so very proud of our boys! They kept fighting and never gave up even though it seemed pretty hopeless at times. I thought they demonstrated the real spirit of the CHAMPIONS they are. I love our Warriors!
